First, yes I am the owner of a powerful and well connected communications company, and this is blog is taken from many, many interviews and discussions with others in the IT and communications world.  This is just something to think about, and I would enjoy speaking with you one on one to get your input.

Our technical growth is estimated to double every year, based on Moore’s Law, exponential growth, (great articles) we need to be very careful.  I understand that most of our tech advances are to benefit people in general and I am for that.  However many of these advances designed to make our lives easier are adding work to your daily life, thus making you less productive.

In addition, many of the software and hardware devices that you add to your business and personal life can have detrimental effects on your current IT and Comm systems that you did not expect and that the developer could not foresee.  We run into this on a regular basis.

Just because you are adding a great new device to your arsenal of marketing, sales, IT, etc does not mean that you will come out ahead.  There are many drawbacks to utilizing them.  I have a smart phone, and although I like several of the applications, there are associated features that I do not want.  Especially the one that track my movements, what I buy, where I go.  I want to have a semi-private life without Big Brother.  (another discussion)

Just beware of the box you open, forewarned is for armed.  Technology is advancing faster than we can look ahead, plan and predict.  Think of the possible ramifications, good and bad that are associated with this new gadget.  Just like a tatoo, it may be great today, but what about tomorrow?

Do your do diligence, utilize an expert and even get a second opinion.  National ComTel is not going to charge you to answer a few questions, we would much rather alleviate a problem from the start versus coming in later to fix a mess that will cost you more money and time.  We are here to assist you any way we can.  We may not have all the answers, however we will share what we do know and what could be.
