Here is another reason why smaller powerful companies like National ComTel will be operaational and offer support when the big provider is unable to.
CenturyLink, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) are working in good faith to reach new collective bargaining agreements for Century Link’s occupational (bargained-for) employees in the Qwest Corporation operating territories. As you may know, the existing contracts are due to expire at midnight MDT on October 6, 2012.
The company fully expects to negotiate new agreements with the unions; however, it is only prudent to ensure a plan is in place to continue serving customers in the unlikely event that no agreement is reached and a work stoppage occurs. The potential work stoppage does not impact Legacy CenturyLink territories and the national QCC services will not be impacted except in Legacy Qwest local territories.
