As we have mentioned before, toll free numbers are in demand by businesses and the current 800, 855, 866, 877, 888 are nearing utilization capacity.
SMS/800, Inc. recently completed a forecasting assessment of the utilization of toll-free numbers and determined the need to prepare the SMS/800 to support the addition of the 844 Numbering Plan Area (NPA). Please note that this does not mean that the toll-free number resource is currently in or near an exhaust situation. Further, the FCC has not established a date for the opening of the 844 code.
National ComTel does it’s best to be in the forefront and is giving you this update. If you are looking for a specific current toll free number or eventual 844 number, please let us know. If this 844 plan is adopted, it still may be some time in coming.
